israel unfiltered packing list
Jan 26, 2025

Packing for an adventure like Israel Unfiltered is more than just throwing clothes into a suitcase—it’s about making sure you have everything you need for an exciting, comfortable, and hassle-free experience. With a packed itinerary that includes hikes, cultural exploration, and Shabbat gatherings, you’ll want to be prepared for every moment.
Luggage & Essentials
Your main luggage should be a large duffle bag or suitcase (preferably with wheels) weighing no more than 50 lbs. You’ll also need a school-sized backpack for daily outings and a CamelBak or similar hydration system for hikes. Trust us—staying hydrated in the Israeli heat is key!
Don’t forget your passport (valid through at least January 2026) and an electrical adapter for charging your devices. A small flashlight or headlamp is also a must for overnight excursions.
Clothing & Footwear
The key to packing clothes? Think lightweight, breathable, and appropriate for all activities. You’ll need:
- T-shirts and shorts (must cover shoulders and be of appropriate length)
- Dressy tops and skirts/pants for Shabbat (modest attire recommended)
- Quick-dry outfits for water hikes
- Bathing suits with appropriate coverage
- Comfortable footwear, including lightweight hiking shoes, sneakers, and waterproof sandals with a backstrap
Since laundry will only be done twice during the trip, pack enough for two weeks—but leave expensive or delicate items at home, as laundry is outsourced and items may shrink or get mixed up.
Personal Care & Extras
A good sunscreen (at least two bottles), hand sanitizer, insect repellent, and lip balm will be lifesavers under the Israeli sun. Don’t forget medications in your carry-on, deodorant, shampoo, and a travel-sized Febreze spray to keep things fresh.
For convenience, bring a journal to document your experience, a portable charger for on-the-go power, and snacks for long travel days. You’ll also need two hats that fully cover your head—these will be required daily.
Important Notes
- No tank tops during the day! These can only be worn at night.
- White tops for Shabbat are common, so consider packing one.
- Toiletries can be purchased in Israel, but they’re more expensive, so stock up before you leave.
- Electrical outlets are different (220V vs. 110V in the U.S.), so an adapter is essential.
